You know those times when you need just a little extra SOMETHING to liven up a meal – like oatmeal, or plain yogurt (because you know plain is oh-so-much better for you than the pre-sweetened stuff!), or homemade waffles or pancakes?
Well, this is exactly what you have been looking for! A delicious way to sweeten things up naturally. My kids gobbled this up so fast the first time I made it that I didn’t even get any. So I HAD to make another batch. Darn! 🙂
Have fun with this one!
Very Berry Sauce
- ¾ cup frozen berries
- 1 ½ – 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup (depending on how sweet you like it)
- ¼ cup water
INSTRUCTIONS
- Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Bring to a light simmer.
- Cook until the berries have softened, about 5 – 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and puree with hand immersion blender or regular blender.
Use immediately or store in the fridge for later.
*Use organic whenever possible for happier hormones!
