It’s Springtime, YAY!  


The sun is finally coming out from behind the clouds, the air feels warmer, and I actually saw some green grass & purple buds of a flower coming up this week.

It’s a wonderful time to let go of some of the habits that have crept in over the winter & take charge of your health again by making some changes to how you are eating.  Many people ask me about a detox about this time of the year, and I always say it is a great time to do it (as long as you are healthy, and you either know how to detox or you are working with someone who does).  There are wonderful Springtime detox foods that can help, lots of delicious recipes & with change in the air your body will thank you after.

Where do you start?  An easy way is to start GREENING it up.  Yep Green Smoothies.  I said it.  Many people are afraid of them, or think they sound awful.  Guess what?  They can be so delicious if you open up to the idea.  It won’t hurt, I promise!  🙂

Try to have 1 each day.  The chlorophyll from the leaves feeds your blood and helps your body achieve balance.  Booting the toxins from your body will become easier and you will feel lighter & more energetic.

Here is a great recipe to start you off.  Experiment. Have fun.  Enjoy it!

Green Spring Smoothie

2+ cups frozen, chopped greens such as collards, kale, or spinach
1/4 cup frozen, pineapple
1/2 frozen banana
1 golden apple
1 1/2 – 2 cups of water
1 Tbsp. of ground flax
1-2 medjool dates (de-seeded) – optional
**optional – add in 2 Tbsp hemp seed to add some great hormone-balancing protein & good fats!
